Stacy Claflin brings her characters to life. They each are well written, in depth, with unique personalities. She makes sure you connect on a personal level. You can't help but fall in love with them all.Rafael comes home to Kittle Falls after his business partner almost destroyed his business in L.A. He is devastated & betrayed by both his ex-business partner & his ex-girlfriend. He doesn't want a relationship. He only wants to focus on starting over by opening a new store where he can sell his line of clothing. As he is leaving his new store, Amara, who has had a thing for him since high school, sees him. She's flustered when he finally realizes that she looks completely different than the girl he used to have as a lab partner. They continue to bump into each other and sparks start to fly. Things start to happen as Rafael gets closer to his grand opening. Someone eggs his store front. A rat with foam around its mouth is left dead at the front door of his store. He has a bad allergic reaction to a cat. He totals his car when someone slams into him at a traffic light sending him to the hospital. Along the way, he and Amara become friends and go out on a few dates. Oh! And, Rafael pushes Amara out of the way when her taffy machine goes berserk, and he gets stabbed in the shoulder which required stitches.The story is filled with love. It also includes people from his past determined to see that Rafael isn't happy, and they do everything they can to make sure of it.I couldn't put this book down. This is a must read for all the romantics out there.
I absolutely love Stacey Claflin books. I had just finished reading Seaside Heart and I could not way for this book. The book is about how people can change and aren't the same as they were in high school or while growing up and that's just what we see in Seaside Kisses. I've enjoyed reading about each Hunter brother and this one is all about Rafael, the fashion designer. I loved that it took place in this beloved seaside town.Rafael is down on his luck and ready to make a new start back home in Kittle Falls. Trying to open a new fashion store proves harder than he thinks when he seems to be threatened for doing so. I thought that Rafael would be a jerk, but he's very down to earth. I really liked him and loved learning more about his story. But just down the street from his store is a candy store run by twins Amara and Alex. Amara is a lot different than she was in high school and now she has the attention of Rafael, unlike in the past. They've both changed so much and the old feelings and new feelings can be hard to mesh. I really liked the woman that Amara grew up to be.I always like reading series about families, friends etc. I would highly recommend this book.
Seaside Kisses - Heartwarming. A well written, interesting romance with well developed characters with realistic dialog and a good plot. The Hunters' stories may end the same way, HEA, but getting there is different for each Hunter and soulmate. Ms. Claflin does not disappoint the reader with these eight books.Seaside Surprises - Pleasant surprise! Since this was my first book by Ms. Claflin, I was surprised. The author did great job with her writing, characters, and plot, which immerses the reader into the story. It's refreshing to read a decent book without explicit sex and profanity and stupidity. I'll be reading more of Ms. Claflin's book. She ranks with Maeve Binchy.Seaside Heartbeats - Intriguing. Another well written, funny romance with heartwarming characters that are real and a twisting plot giving suspense to the story. The Hunters are a good family and each story is fresh, no repeats.Seaside Dances - Little sad. A well written, intriguing romance with a couple of not so happy characters and all the rest of characters in this series. The plot twists from a sad, slow beginning into fast moving happiness. Not my favorite book of the Hunters series, but still an interesting read.Bayside Promises - A heavy but with humor story. A well written, intense romance with interesting, believable characters. The heaviness of the father's destructive behavior towards his family damages his daughters, but they still have a sense of humor, although love is difficult. I didn't like the father, because of his destruction, but not everything is sunshine and roses. This book is kinda like watching Die Hard when it first hit the screen, it involved your emotions too hard when the causes were exposed to the girls' thought processes. It is a good story and worth reading.
This was a good clean romance, which is what I was looking for. I haven't read any of the other stories in this series so I was worried if this book could work as a stand alone book, and it did. After reading about some of the other brothers in this book it makes me want to read each of their stories too. I will say I'm still trying to work out why the book was named as it was. There was practically no mention of the "seaside" anywhere...
Another well written and very interesting book in a great series. This is the fourth book I have read now and I enjoyed it just as much as the other three. Again, I wasn't able to put it down until I had finished it. Stacy Claflin is responsible for a lot of sleepless nights for me, lol. Although each book has a Hunter H, they are all standalone books with an HEA for the particular Hunter male in this story.
I love reading all about the Kittle Falls' Hunters! They are very individual, although the timing is strange. Amara still hasn't recovered from her miserable school years, although she worked hard to no longer be the ugly duckling! Rafael, her school crush, finally sees her and helps her see how beautiful she is as he is busy dealing with starting a new business and the mystery of who is trying to stop his business from opening! There is a lot going on, but it works!
