I've been struggling to find a book that could help me to put together an on-line video course that would be easy to understand and informative to offer the guidance I needed to structure a meaningful training course. Most of them out there are too wordy or contain a lot of fluff. This exceeded my expectations and "over-delivered" in many ways. The author writes instructional materials as an occupation and has a knack for explaining things in a concise and effective manner. She offers great advice,guidance and resources that are very usable. If you're thinking about doing an on-line course, do yourself a favor and get this book. It inspired me to start on mine after I read it because I felt more prepared. I recommend it highly.

This was a great overview book. And was more in-depth than I would have expected. A lot of the thing in the book would be applicable to any kind of instruction, not just online. The end of the book around instruction design theories seemed a little rushed as if there was too much material and was kind of an afterthought. Hence the four stars. But still quite solid!
Straightforward and presented clearly, with step by step guidelines to help those getting started in this area. Helpful tips and ideas throughout the book. Highly recommend for all audiences, but particularly those considering creating an online class but may feel hesitant - this book will guide you through the process!
