Since 2013 I have been teaching Grades 1-5, and before Grades 6-7. A lot of materials went through my hands and a many good books out there. Recently I came across Introducing MATH! series and like it very much. Their concept is funny, interactive, engaging and educational. I have all grades from 1 to 5. Each grade has corresponding topics, each topic has introduction manual and then set of problems, followed by chapter tests. Here is small list of what I like about these books:1. Size (its not small and tiny workbook)2. Space (child have enough space to write and reason their thoughts)3. Video Explanations (this is an amazing concept, all 600 questions has video tutorials)4. Illustrations (Space and alien theme is very appealing to kids.)5. Amount of topics covered.

It’s one of the study books that I’ve bought for my kids. We enjoy books design (many cool pictures, a lot of space, good format and not so many exercises are on the page). Exercises are exactly that kids need in this grade. Good choice’s for fun studying.

I like to have several math books each school year, and this is a good edition to what we already have.

As a parent I need books that could be engaging and not boring. This is exactly what I call perfect match. Kids love problems and illustrations. Manual that goes before topic well written and explains enough to proceed and do questions. Also big plus is that this workbook provides space to write in it while solving problems. It means I can just give it to my kids and they will do they home work in it and I will check it later. No need to have separate notebook. Well done!

I highly recommend this translation of Dante's Inferno. For many years, Ciardi's translation has been the standard and it has much to recommend it. But Ciardi's rhymed stanzas are looser, wordier, and less faithful to the original than Thornton's blank verse. Thornton brings us closer to what Dante wrote. And the excellent notes at the end of each canto help bring this masterpiece to life for a modern reader.

With decades of study and meticulous craftsmanship, Dr. Peter Thornton has offered his translation of “The Inferno.” I do not know Italian, but I have read a couple of other translations of “The Inferno,” and I found this one the best for several reasons. First, the poetry is vivid. I felt like orange flames and the stench of Sulphur were my companions as much as were Dante and Virgil.The verse itself is a second reason I liked this translation. The meter – iambic pentameter, the ordinary meter of the English language – does not intrude into the poetry itself. That is, I wasn’t conscious of stretching of words or awkward diction for the sake of the meter.You can enjoy the translation without bothering to read the footnotes, but once you start, you are off on another journey, equally absorbing – this one through contemporary (to Dante) Florentine history, Christian metaphors and allusions, Roman legend and mythology, and Catholic scholars from Augustine on.Read the translation; savor the footnotes. There’s always room for a fresh version of hell.

THANK YOU !! I've been trying to expose my kids to more of the classics. But every translation of the Divine Comedy I've come across has been so difficult that I couldn't even get through Hell (felt like hell trying to read it). UNTIL NOW !!! Thank you Mr. Douglas Neff for this translation. It keeps all the flavor, tension, and character; and stays true to the original story. Reading this translation, I find myself more absorbed and engaged in trying to understand what Dante was trying to get across, and why he picked certain persons for certain levels, and doing research into some of the people, places, vices, etc. that he talks about, instead of spending hours trying to decipher the actual language of the translation. My 7 year old is totally engaged, while at the same time, my 15 year old and I are getting into some very interesting discussions (Dante put Pope Celestine V with those souls who neither heaven nor hell want, because he resigned as Pope . . . I wonder what that means for old former pope Benedict XVI / cardinal Ratzinger who just did the same thing). And none of us are getting ground down by having to stop and try and translate the language.I cannot encourage you strongly enough to get this book. You will not be disappointed. I'm now trying to find a comparable translation of Purgatory and Paradise so we can complete the story.

Dante's THE INFERNO is a classic. Written around 1321, the book predates most of the classics, except Homer's works of course. But even before Shakespeare, this book heralded in an uncommonly twisted and almost perverse story of Dante's descent into Hell and his description of everything he sees and those he meets. It's eloquently written. Not necessarily an easy read but it does tribute to the language and reminds the reader that our vernacular has so much more color than the reductio ad absurdum we see being used today. Dante's descriptions of the nightmare that sinners endure at each level is pretty graphic, sometimes bordering on horrifying, and who knows, he might even be credited with the first narrative on the subject of flesh-eating zombies which are so popular today. The narrative also gives the reader a feel for certain historical relevancies of that and earlier times and how Dante saw the world. This particular version of the book, by John Ciardi, provides excellent descriptive notes after each section, clarifying things mentioned in the story so the reader stays on track. Lastly, I could not help but wonder if the Vatican of that time didn't encourage the book to be written simply because of its thematic message of what happens to sinners, particularly those who sin against God and the Church or become apostates. It certainly provides compelling imagery to anyone who believes in Heaven and Hell. Add it to your reading arsenal - it's worth the read.

This book is larger than his previous book, but just as intricate. There's an interesting range of animals for sure, and I'm loving it. I'm going to be a little nitpicky and give some constructive criticism in hopes that these might be taken into consideration for future designs.Some of the terms are a bit hard to read initially but once you get to coloring them in, it's much easier to read.There's a teddy bear among the images, holding some balloons which... I feel is out of place since all the others are actual animals that may or may not be found in various jungles, but I still like the design.I personally don't know how I'm going to handle the image with the ring-tailed lemur since a lot of the lines on it are very close together. I have fineliners but I don't think they're fine enough to get in there easily.Also a couple of the images were a little... I don't know if the right word is "sloppy" because most of the image is fine, but there are instances where lines overlap or don't quite meet up (images included to show examples). I know one was an instance of "nob" vs "knob" and so Joe added the K onto it afterward. I actually just checked the PDF and he kept it as "nob" in there so that one's cleaner. However, the hippo still has overlapping lines in the PDF (I checked to see if maybe it was a printer issue somehow). It's as if the letters have been shifted over slightly and the layers weren't corrected. I can work with it, I look on the bright side of things, it's just a couple things to look out for in the future ;)Note: I purchased this book at a discounted rate of $3.50 (?) but that does not sway my opinion of the book. I still love it, especially the panda.

I'd say this is a middle of the road adult coloring book. The drawings are just okay, the paper is just okay, the sayings are just okay. I like it enough to keep it and use it, but I wouldn't buy it again or give it as a gift. I have much better swear word coloring books in my collection.  This is my fourth "sweary" coloring book, and it's by far the best I've had. I say this not because the curse words are more crude or elaborate, but because it's amazing **as a coloring book.** The "sweary" coloring book scene has erupted so quickly that many of the books out there are, quite frankly, hack jobs. The images in some are rip-offs, and in many of the books there are not even very good areas for coloring. The images will not even go to the edge of the page, in some instances, leaving you having to draw your own boundary lines at the edge of the image.This one is an actual coloring book, with elegant designs throughout. Of course, that probably sounds ridiculous because this book is also teeming with vulgarity, but that's what so great about it: like all "sweary" coloring books, it is an exercise in contrast. Coloring, this thing that has long been associated with purity and childhood is crammed up against vile language in this exquisitely rendered coloring book.A FEW THOUGHTS ON ADULT COLORING AND COLORING BOOKS IN GENERALIt surprises me that, as a man in my mid 40s, I've gotten pretty into coloring ... again. Like most of us, I did my share of coloring as a young boy, but then (also like most of us) coloring completely vanished from my life. Like all adult colorers, coloring is a recovery of youth, in part, and also a rediscovery of adult hood.And we've even gone so far as to have friends over to the house ... to color. In these group coloring sessions, where nearly everyone is coloring in adult coloring books or sweary coloring books or even sometimes pages cut neatly from a coloring book, I feel I've learned a bit about coloring and through coloring:● coloring returns some of us to spaces in our minds and anatomies of feeling that have been almost entirely dormant since childhood, and that's probably the most powerful thing about coloring● coloring is an exercise in futility in some ways, when compared with how "we adults" seem supposed to spend out waking hours; when we color, we're "just coloring" and I think this experience has its own power and intrigue, at least for some of us● and then there are colorers and there are non-colorers; some adults simply don't want to get (back) into coloring, and that seems to be for a variety of reasons: "I'm messy" or "I never liked coloring" or some other barrier that exists between the adult self and what seems to be a childish way of coloring● conversation is noticeably different in a group when people are coloring, and I wouldn't say it's always "better" but sometimes more real, or automatic, or stream-of-consciousy ... this is my favorite thing about coloring in a group: people say things that they simply would never utter in face-to-face conversation● and then there are all kinds of ways that you learn about the idiosyncrasies of your fellow colors: this person simply has to complete everything she stars, and that person has no ability to plan ahead (in terms of coloring)ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ  Spencer in Seattle original reviewI was provided a free sample in exchange for my honest review.

This is super fun! I have been reviewing colored pencils, so it only seemed appropriate to buy myself a coloring book. All of the ones I had seen in the stores were not only expensive, but had all kinds of swirly flowers and intricate designs and themes to them. It made my head hurt. LOL I just want nice, light gentle coloring where my head doesn't want to explode while doing it. HA! These had funny sayings and I giggle every time I work on one. For under $5, it was the cheapest one I found. I absolutely LOVE IT!I paid full price for this item and would definitely buy it again! :)

I got this for my dearest friend who is staying with me. He is snarky, quick-witted, sarcastic, creative, intellectual, highly cultured, and a proud vulgarian. He also had PTSD and has been battling anxiety/depression issues on top of that, so he has been crocheting and coloring for therapeutic purposes. When I saw this book, I knew it would be right up his alley.It came today and he was so happy!! He absolutely loves it, and seeing his face light up, and watching him giggle and exclaim over the different pages was priceless. This is a real winner.High quality paper doesn't tear, and there is great variety in the art styles and phrases. Penis wrinkle? Always a winner. Smiles for days!

My son is currently deployed on an aircraft carrier in the Arabian Gulf in a very high-stress department. After finding out their deployment was extended morale was HORRIBLE onboard. I got to work sending a ton of random mood lifters and so far these have been one of the best finds yet!
