I think that "odd" is probably the best way to describe this book. It's vague about things that it should be specific about, and it's too specific about things that don't matter. It omits some important information, like AES67, but it doesn't really say very much about Conbranet, Dante, Q-LAN, or AVB either. There's barely a paragraph on each. There's a ton of "soft skills" information, like project management and documentation, but not a lot of technical information. The sections on video networking left me with more questions than answers. If you're looking for THE definitive resource about all things AV networking, this isn't it. Not even close. It's good for an introductory level text, but you'll want to follow it up with some more serious technical resources. I'll also mention that there are a number of typos in the printed hardcover edition, some of which actually change the meaning of the sentence.

Arrived on time in excellent shape. Book offers a good starting point for a basic introduction into AV networking. If you're just getting into networking of AV this book is worth reading.

Very well laid out for reference. The author explains the note complicated subjects in a concise easy to understand way.

I owe a huge debt to Dr. Otis for his research regarding this subject. The author launched his research to determine why spiritual darkness exists where it does. It is clear that territorial spirits are both real and Biblical. But, as believers we need to go a step further and understand why are they there and how can we seek God's guidance in overcoming their harmful effects.Twilight Labyrinth is not a quick read. The early chapters provide an introduction and make the research relevant. The next third of the chapters discuss historical concepts, spiritual beliefs and psychological realities, pointing toward their cause and effect relationships. Finally, the book offers a summary of why darkness exists where it does based on Brother George's research.This work requires effort and maturity on the part of the reader, however it offers a conclusion that should be understood by all church leaders. If you are ready for an indepth study into spiritual warfare, This book is for you.

This book is not a quick read, but is definitely worth the time to dig out the rich morsels. Mr Otis has done so much of the hard work & research & compiled a very informative book that answers so many questions while presenting even more. Very thought provoking. I highly respect that the information is presented in a very factual & balanced way, and he doesn't mince words where the Word of God speaks on these topics. I have read this book several times and each time gain new insight into the world of spiritual warfare. It is extremely well written, well organized, and thought-provoking. Even though it isn't absolutely necessary to agree with every bit that's been searched and researched and analyzed, I can't very well say I know more than he does. I recommend this book to others often and always try to keep a spare copy to loan out. It's one of the best -- if not THE best -- on the historical elements of spiritual warfare that I've read in the past dozen or so years.

Fascinating stuff, extremely well-written and with the mind of an academic.

While many big events get overhyped and turn out to be disappointing, Infinity Gauntlet actually left many fans very satisfied. There's a lot of story buildup, not tons of fighting, but we enjoy seeing so many characters coming together to defeat Thanos, a villain who is seemingly invincible. This book collects all 6 issues, which only seemed to have a minor contribution to the events that play out in the movie. Some of the major characters in here - Silver Surfer, Warlock, Mistress Death - don't even appear in the film. Same goes for Wolverine, She-Hulk, and Doctor Doom. However, the general premise is there, and it's possible they used other material as a source like Infinity War, Infinity Crusade, or Infinity Watch. I wouldn't know, admittedly I haven't read them because I was always told Infinity Gauntlet is the best. There's not a lot I can say about this series without spoiling the plot, so I'll just tell you that it's well written by Jim Starlin, and beautifully illustrated by George Perez and Ron Lim, who are all highly respected in the comic industry. Pick this up today and enjoy an epic story about some of the biggest characters in sci-fi/pop culture.

Jim Starlin is one of the best writers Marvel has ever employed, in my opinion. With this definitive take on Thanos, Starlin shows why he was the go-to guy for anything cosmic for Marvel, especially in the 80's and early 90's. Taking what could have been a distinctly goofy and over-the-top plot (Thanos used the combine might of the Infinity Gems to wipe out half of all life in the Universe) and made it not only a fantastic read, but nearly Shakespearean in nature thanks to the backstory Starlin provides for Thanos and his attempts to prove his love for Mistress Death. Overall a masterful piece of writing and one of the all time definitive Marvel titles. This is why Thanos was chosen to be the big bad of the MCU.

One of the best storytelling and plots in Marvel history. Many heroes go against Thanos who holds the Infinity Gauntlet with all the infinity gems. Now, Silver Surfer: Rebirth of Thanos does include the events that lead up to the Inifity Gauntlet, but flashbacks and other exposition cover the vital information from that collection as well as the backstories of most of the major players.The story is basically this. A villian by the name of Thanos has aquired the Infinity Gauntlet which is powered by the Infinity Gems giving ultimate power essentially making him God. He is in love with the female personification of Death and as his gift to her he kills half of the sentient life in the universe with the snap of his fingers. On Earth, heros unite with cosmic gaurdians in a last futile stand against a mad god at the end of the Universe. This story has everyone. Adam Warlock, Thanos, Silver Sufer, Galactus, The Watcher, Wolverine, the Hulk, the Avengers, the X-Men, Dr. Strange, Quasar, Dr. Doom, Mephisto, and many more.Pretty much anyone who was anyone back in 1991 is in this. The art is absolutely gorgeous and the story is beyond epic. Space, time, and reality are bent, broken, and destroyed in a cosmic struggle to stop Thanos. I can't recommend this enough. Sequels to this story include Infinity War (Marvel Comics),Infinity Crusade - Volume 1 (v. 1), and Infinity Crusade - Volume 2 (v. 2). All of which I've read and recommend.

I will not spoil any of the story, but merely state that I was stunned by the complexity of the storytelling techniques Starlin used to write this book. He constantly switches narrators and perspectives to give the reader every side of the story. It's all so effortless.The artwork is likewise magnificent as George Pérez illustrates all these wonderful depictions of the heroes, worlds, and powers. The colors are so vivid and everything just pops. It's easy to see how audiences everywhere fell in love with this book. Massive in scope, yet the story and characters are so empathetic, The Infinity Gauntlet may very well be the best comic book Marvel ever released.

I read the originals as a kid, in 6 different issues. I saw this and bought it for my son. It's all 6 issues of the original Infinity Gauntlet in 1 book. This is the best comic book series ever written. Regardless of what your into as far as comics go, you'll love this. If you haven't read it, it's a must buy.

I enjoyed this book. It was cool to see all the comic characters that I am not familiar with. I am not an avid comic book reader so this gave me good insight into who Thanos is and what drives him. Cool cast of comic heroes too. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to see amazing characters.

Principle strategy as preparation of optimal environment for normal occlusal development, correction or guidance of the developing irregularity to normal, elimination/reduction of second-phase treatment time, and maximization of growth potential for growth modification treatment are among reasons mentioned for early orthodontic treatment.Chapter II by providing an overview of different stage of dentition dental development, from tooth formation to permanent occlusion, provides an overview of dental development, from tooth formation to permanent occlusion. The author emphasizes the developmental stages that must be recognized during patient examination to facilitate differential diagnosis.Chapter III is very important from clinical and paraclinical perspective, that describes elements of thorough diagnostic database and incorporates interview with the patient, Extra/Intra-oral examination, and study cast evaluation. I am looking forward to reading the rest. Highly recommend it.

About the Author

Lesa Cline-Ransome is the author of many books for children, including My Story, My Dance: Robert Battle & Journey to Alvin Ailey, which was an ALA Notable Book, an IRA Notable Book for a Global Society, and an NCTE Orbis Pictus Recommended title for Outstanding Nonfiction for Children; Satchel Paige, an ALA Notable Book and a Top 10 Sports Book for Youth; and Words Set Me Free: The Story of Young Frederick Douglass, which The New York Times Book Review called, “visceral, intimate, and plainly told, this story is sure to move young children, and also motivate them to read more.” Her books were all illustrated by her husband, James E. Extremely well written with illustrations that are worthy of stopping to look at closely. The reader feels compelled to turn each page. On some pages, the illustrations (by the author’s husband) make the reader pause and think more carefully about the gravity of what the author is saying. Wow. They had to learn how to play tennis under those conditions? On other pages, the illustrations reveal the force and power of the sisters’ talent as well as the strong bond of these sisters. The author builds on these themes with quotes and descriptions of small moments like two sisters sitting in bed, looking out the window asking, “Do you really think I can do it?” and the father bringing in “busloads of neighborhood kids” to taunt the sisters so they wouldn’t be bothered by this during real tournaments.Would read this aloud to grades 3-5. OR would offer this as a title for small groups to read and discuss. OR would book talk this and then leave in the classroom library to be snatched up.If you're going to book talk this - I'd project the cover (with the title) and ask students to spend a few moments looking closely. You might ask, "What do you notice?" or "What is the illustrator trying to convey?" and "What do you think the title means?" You might also read aloud the page that starts with "By the time Venus was four she could hit five hundred tennis balls at every practice...At twelve, Venus announced she would win Wimbledon" (about page 13). This book is really good! It's enjoyable to read and Vern the author really inspires a sense of confidence and belief through his words and guidance. I've been meditating for years and felt somewhat stuck, having perhaps lost touch with the simplicity and importance of the foundations and basics of concentration. Meditation is a simple activity that in today's world of information overload coupled with our busy minds is turned into something elusive and hard to really master. This book will blow the cobwebs out of an experienced meditators practise and invigorate it with its no fluff advice. For a beginner, this book has all you will need to master your mind, find peace and open up to a truly amazing path. With Metta. L

I've read and continue to read and take courses on meditation and mindfulness. All of them are fascinating and provide enormous insight regarding this life-changing subject. But in this simple book you actually learn what to do. Nowhere else that I've seen will you find such a concise set of instructions (there aren't many). Without this book, I would have assumed I just don't get it and quit. Probably in the first week or so. Thanks Vern Lovic. And to the guy who said there's not much to it: That's the whole point! I learned much more from Jon Kabat-Zinn and others, but not how to meditate. And perhaps Lovic is right, maybe you don't need to know anything else.

This is an outstanding book for beginners learning to meditate. Why? Its a little hard to explain because so much of what is great about this guide is the very subtle things . . but the author seems to have a gift for saying just enough at each step and just the right things. The words are very humble and very wise. Even though he claims not to know or have achieved true enlightenment - - the way this is written makes me believe he is very far along the path. The guide gets right into the practice of meditation in a very practical, achievable and honest way. Many thanks to the author, this has helped me greatly.

I've never written a review before and now I'll never be able to say that again. But this book was so enormously helpful that I wanted to thank Vern for writing it. Thank you so much Vern!!!I've been trying to meditate, on and off, for over 30 years now, sometimes for 2 to 3 hours a day for several years at a time and really never made much progress, even with many different techniques and great attention to sitting posture, etc.I won't go into much detail in terms of what I'm experiencing now but suffice it to say, I'm making progress and am incredibly grateful. One of the most important things that Vern mentions is the non-attachment issue. Many of us are very familiar with the concept but Vern brought it home in a way that just never quite sunk in before. And in meditation I believe it to be crucial. We are so used to having benchmarks for our progress, it's rather foreign to simply, well, be unattached :).If I could give this book 10 stars I would......Thanks again Vern!

Do you really need a certified instructor, who designs for you a custom mantra, or to go to a Buddhist Temple in the Far East to learn this ancient practice? The plain truth is no. Vern Lovic shows us in non-technical terms how to perform the art of meditation and get out of it its healthful benefits. The KISS principle reigns supreme as the author makes it clear that esoteric terms and practices are not necessary to enjoy the benefits of meditation.I like the way meditation is treated as a common-sense practice, totally accessible to the layman, and not to be exclusively reserved for the insiders of some arcane new age movements. The author gives the reader some simple ways of practicing meditation, with an emphasis on breath-focus and concentration, and opens for one the road----whether one should choose to take it or not----to acquiring Jhana, that heavenly experience of earthly bliss, presence, and tranquility.

I love this little book. It is very well explained and right to the point. I like the author's honesty that I was able to feel as I read. Very good for the very beginner like me, which finds meditating a struggle an needed more guidance. Very easy to understand and follow. Thank you.

My son is reading this book for a book report on an inventor. He loves it and is learning so much. This book excites him which makes me happy because He is always saying how much he hates reading.

My first grader loves these books, and the series covers interesting people from all over the spectrum of history. She has quite a collection going and we plan to buy tons more.We got the Gallileo book because she loves space. She is a pretty advanced reader for her age, and I would say this one is a bit of a harder and more complex read than say the Abraham Lincoln book, which she found more relatable and was generally a faster book to finish.This is a deep and well written story however, and has introduced her to all sorts of new people she can obsess over, such as all the Greek philosophers that inspired Gallileo, and other things that were going on in history in his lifetime.We read out of this book each night for 15 minutes, which is about a chapter a night. I listen to my daughter read it and help her with some of the hard words. The story is pretty detailed and I think she has gotten a real sense of satisfaction out of it, now since we are on the last chapter. She might not be absorbing everything they are saying, such as the Catholics vs Protestants, and the push back he got from the Catholic Church despite being a devout follower, however it offers her just enough of a challenge with hard words that she is definitely improving her vocabulary and it is helping her reading aloud.

This would be a great read aloud for any classroom or at home! We read it together as a family (12 year old boy/girl twins and a 10 year old). Everyone was interested, and it led to a lot of discussions. Loved it!

My boys ages 8 & 12 really enjoyed this book. We read it as a part of a space unit study a few weeks ago. They still talk about it and test out his theories on a regular basis. It had enough information to be educational but not dry and boring.

This is a good, brief, readable biography of one of the most important figures in the history of science. Children grade 4 and up should be able to handle it. I also recommend it for a busy adult—in a quick read, the book provides more than enough information to appreciate the impact Galileo had on human scientific progress.

We (children and parents) find these books absolutely fascinating. If adults want a quick snapshot of these famous people, we highly recommend these fun books!

We own twenty books from this series and this has been one of our family’s favorites!

Excellent books for kids. We read all the "big head" books. They are fun for kids, and have great pictures as well.
